The main reasons to pursue psychotherapy
As detailed above, the goal of psychotherapy is to intervene with people who are experiencing distress, psychological difficulties and / or emotional disorders such as:
- Depression, anxiety, professional burnout, etc.
- Mental health issues resulting from abuse, mistreatment, trauma, etc.
- Adjustment disorders at school or work
- Family issues
- Couples and / or love life issues
- Parental coaching to support parents in their daily life
- Adaptation and management of problems resulting from neuropsychological disorders
This is not an exhaustive list of all the reasons for consultations leading to psychotherapy care, but rather a series of examples that can guide the reader to determine the mental health professional they should consult.
